How to prepare for summer
The weather is warming up which means summer is right around the corner. While making plans to enjoy the sunshine as much as you can, you’ve probably been thinking about how you can start preparing your skin for the warmer months. Our tips will help you step into summer with ease.
An essential part of prepping for summer is getting your body into shape.
If you’re not feeling motivated to jump on the exercise wagon straight away then start slowly. Incorporate a short walk into your day, then maybe go for jog, after a couple of weeks or so head to the gym and go hard! You will be toned and beach-ready in no time.
As well as exercising, eating clean is also essential. Time to stop comfort eating and increase your intake of fruits, vegetables and water. Extra vitamins and minerals in your diet will give your body a boost and support your mission to healthy, glowing skin.
Hot weather and humidity can cause skin to suffer. Pores can become clogged from heavy duty winter makeup, and oily skin combined with sweat can cause breakouts. Now is the time to start carrying blotting paper with you to help control excess oil. It’s also a good idea to switch to lightweight beauty products that are water-based, like BB creams.
If you have dry, rough skin to tackle before you can take out your shorts, and summer dresses, exfoliate. Use a body scrub or a loofah to work on problem areas, these tend to be elbows and knees. Don’t scrub too hard and always follow-up with a thick moisturizing lotion. Exfoliate regularly and get set for smoother, clearer skin.
